r/anime is 90% very low effort rec threads ("I watched an entry level shonen on Netflix, is there anything else like this?") and 10% disguised ads ("New promo for [forgettable seasonal show]!"). Its users aren't weebs. They have no real interest in Japan, or anime, or anything related to those topics.

There's currently a thread on /m/ where an anon is wondering if he can legally import the Mobile Police Patlabor manga to the UK, because it contains a subplot about child sex trafficking. It's all so stupid and tiresome.
