Seriously, if Garp hates the WG that he outright refuses to become an Admiral just so he doesn’t get ordered around by an Elder, why is he still so loyal to the Marines? It’s clear he has a moral code, but can’t accept that his son and grandson have a better path because they have a choice to not commit crimes against humanity.

Like, every other outlaw in the series gets sent to Impel Down or a local jail by default, right? Ace was chosen for execution literally just because his dad was Roger, the Pirate King, and in hindsight, it’s clear this was a decision from the Five Elders to kill the Great Pirate Age that Roger started. This should’ve broken Garp and made him defect from the Marines, but he just didn’t, nor did he explain why he’s so loyal to the Marines.
