Then I started traveling across Europe, Asia and America and I found out that I have more in common with other Poles than other people and that our government isn't as retarded and corrupted in comparison to other governments, so I saw a hope.

In comparison to other nations we have actually very decent track record. Both, historically (muh commonwealth) and since fall of communism (2nd fastest growing economy in the world, while not being totalitarian insektoids like Chinks who are 1st). I share very similar values to most of Poles, so defending national pride feels more personal.
