according to Jesus Christ, the spirit of the law is that the meaning of adultery is that it extends even to having lustful thoughts towards a married woman since this means you have already committed adultery in your heart; the purpose of this teaching was to make the point that not only is the insitution of marriage just that highly sacred since a man being made one with a woman as a perfect union is a fundamental natural law but also to show that nobody can actually live up to the commandments since literally everyone is continually breaking this one commandment (and if you have broken one it is as if you have broken all of them) by having involuntary lustful thoughts and so this is why a Savior was necessary to automatically redeem imperfect humans from sin.

But also as >>103872440 points out, adultery only applies to marriage; it is never actually stated that it is adultery to lust for a non-married woman and especially is it never stated that another woman doing so is adultery. Paul however does say that
>For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature
when complaining about types of sinners that bother him but Jesus himself never says anything about it and nowhere else in the Bible are lesbians even mentioned. Gay men are definitely condemned though.
