In-game an armed train makes sense because sometimes you're minding your own business doing deliveries then suddenly there's an attack helicopter or a tank or something up your ass. IRL idk why they existed because you raise a strong point.
I hear train wheels can be detached from the tracks now so this vehicle is obsolete
