Fixing technical/programming errors and getting your patch working is way harder than actually translating, you run into some fucking nightmares and basically need to beg coders to help you out.
I remember there was a translator who used to post here (now dead) who talked about how he worked on a short nukige VN where if you changed the names of the heroines from Japanese to English the voice lines stopped playing and he never figured out why.
