"how is it that four out of the five conditions he himself set were not achieved? Hamas has not been disarmed, the Gaza Strip has not been demilitarized, Israel does not have full security control over the entire Strip, and there is no guarantee that an "alternative civilian administration that is neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority" will be established.

Netanyahu said in that same speech on August 14 that "these five principles will ensure Israel's security. That is the meaning of the word 'victory.' That is what we are working on—and everyone had better internalize it." At least one person apparently did not watch the press conference and did not fully internalize it—President Trump, who created a phased arrangement that suits the Nobel Prize timeline and, at least at this stage, casts aside what Netanyahu calls "victory."
And if Netanyahu calls those principles absolute victory, then what is his definition of our situation when the vast majority of them have not been achieved?
