Under 50 reviews is steep, but this one still isn't that talked about.
Pompom is a puzzle-platformer where you have to help guide a hamster through a bunch of different obstacle course-style levels. Pompom is always moving, so your job is to place platforms and block enemies so that he can get to the goal. While the game isn't too difficult to beat, the real challenge comes from 100%. You have to collect coins throughout the stages to do so, which requires optimal placement of the limited platforms. Getting a perfect run feels very satisfying and offers an extra layer of challenge if you really like the gameplay.
Presentation-wise, the game is very cute and bubbly, both in the character designs and in the soundtrack. If you like Hamtaro or Kirby you'll probably like this game.
Surprsingly, this game has controller support. But, since you control a cursor during gameplay, it makes more sense to just use the mouse and keyboard. The controls are very simple, using only a, d, and the left and right mouse clicks. Right click does the same thing as spacebar and I wished the tutorial told you that.
I've had this one on my wishlist for years and forgot about it for a while. It goes on sale a lot.
