That's not to say some kinda DMCA or what-have-you couldn't be filed regardless. But when cash is moving people tend to be more litigious about things.
I know if I was a guy who made an outfit and some random jackoff halfway across the globe was getting PAID to redistribute my shit for free I'd be pissed off and look for some form of recourse. Whereas if he was doing it for free I'd still be pissed but more likely to cope with it as just part-and-parcel of being on the internet.
