No its because their bosses expect the shit to ACTUALLY fucking work 24/7/365 or close to it.

Compared to Cisco or similar tier shit Ubiquiti is ~1/2 the price or less while providing similar capability.

Even small school systems or community colleges are going to go with Ubiquiti before they even think about letting their resident linux troon setup a pfsense or openWRT type FOSS network.
