EU Commission chief speaks to Trump after Kyiv attack - 'Putin must come to negotiating table'
Ursula von der Leyen has said she has spoken to Donald Trump after the "massive strike" on Kyiv overnight.
At least 18 people have been killed, according to Ukrainian officials, and an EU delegation building was damaged.
The EU Commission chief didn't say what Trump told her, and we are yet to hear from the US president.
"Putin must come to the negotiating table," she said.
"We must secure a just and lasting peace for Ukraine with firm and credible security guarantees that will turn the country into a steel porcupine.
"Europe will fully play its part."
