Honestly, even my lefty friends complain about these types of games because the minority characters always have to be kind angels or only exists for tokenism. Like these AAA companies will make their lgbt stories as barebones as possible to not offend anyone but this just ends up appealing to no one.
Like Suselle is very uninteresting because no drama/chemistry happens, but at least both characters are interesting on their own and have their own character arcs outside the relationship. They don't exist only to be gay to tick off a "representation" checklist(same could be said for Alphys/Undyne).
Funnily enough in the same game, Spamtenna would be an actually GOOD example of how to write lgbt characters because there's so much compelling aspects about both characters and their past relationship, and it's also messy and toxic like how some real relationships work. What a lot of lgbt people want are just stories where lgbt characters can be flawed and do bad(even evil) things without being reduced to a negative stereotype.
