I'm actually offended. I'm very pointedly not trying to write YA slop. Is it so hard to imagine that a story can be for adults even if some of the principal characters happen to be younger at the beginning?

There's a part of me that will never forgive the United States for what it did to Melville. This country, in general, has no use for great art. The artists it DOES elevate tend to be basically vaudville performers. Like fucking Mark Twain.

I want to know who the FUCK is hiring all the truly terrible Millennial writers and directors instead of hiring the ones with actually good ideas and talent. I know they exist, I've seen some of them on this very site. Yet it's all the bad ones who seem to get jobs in Hollywood.
