The Practical Applications of Groping. (PART 1)
Opening with Momiji and Rentarou in the middle school lunch room, Momiji thanks Rentarou for bringing her some napkins after she tried to grope her pudding. Ren turns to leave before overhearing some JC1 students gossiping about Momi and "her creepy obsession." Momiji pretends not to hear the boys and Rentarou, noticing this, stands up for her and chases the boys off, threatening to eat them. When Rentarou returns, he asks Momiji why she just sits there and let's people talk about her like that. Momiji responds that she's used to comments like that. Saying that it comes with the territory of being a massage therapist. Creeps, happy endings, and shady massage places all contribute to the bad rep. Ren, now enraged at society, asks Momiji if she'd like his help in showing the world how amazing the gift of massages can be. Momiji complies nonchalantly and the majority of the chapter is little gags showing Momiji's groping used in a variety of helpful or silly ways. Such as helping a woman at the grocery store decide which fruits are perfectly ripe or massaging a broken TV until it's perfectly repaired (leading Ren to remark that she's no different than Crazy Diamond at this point.) The two work up a sweat throughout the day until Rentarou finally passes out on the asphalt. This leads to a nightmare about society isolating Momiji due to her profession. But just as darkness is setting in, a warm feeling envelops the dreamscape. Rentarou awakens to find Momiji straddling him, massaging his chest. Looking up at her hard working, sweat slicked face, Rentarou has a revelation that Momiji doesn't need to prove anything to the society. Her massages are pure and healing, able to wash away any fear or pain. (Continued)
