The way GOP politicians and much of the trad right defines "porn" leaves little room for any sort of eroticism in art. The Interstate Obscenity Redefinition Act being pushed by a GOP politician in Utah essentially defines porn as "anything that might make you hard". I doubt you would find much opposition to killing 3D porn and its associated trafficking like with Pornhub, but it's becoming clear that what is being proposed is a blanket ban on all remotely erotic expression, and that is why it is being opposed. Republican lawmakers clearly cannot distinguish between erotic art and outright pornography, and would happily ban a lot of Classical and Reniassance-era art and sculptures if they were made today. And of course, they would happily nuke all Japanese fanservice games whether Teen or M-rated, because the only difference between porn and ero to them is degrees, not substance (and you can observe this yourself on the ground whenever you see someone reply to a Japanese ecchi game thread with "just watch porn bro" Lawmakers are unironically trying to take that concept and run away with it).
