The thing about the Uni's gameplay style is that simply keeping them alive long enough to marry off has been the easiest it's been in the series, since they made dying from starvation or leaving a character sick for too long a lot more lenient (alongside removing discipline, which resulted in CMs and sickness on certain devices). You can just leave the device sitting for a day or so and have no problem getting an adult.
However, they haven't changed dying from getting sick too many times in the same stage, so the challenge of keeping a single character alive for a long time is still there since you can't clear out the sickness counter in adulthood. I'd even argue it's harder to get a "high score" age in the Uni compared to old-school entries due to the stricter stat depletion rates, especially with certain characters. Kuchipatchi on the Connectios loses hunger every 75 minutes and happiness every 100 minutes, and has a 30% chance of getting sick on CM (which can be halved to 15% in the 2024 rerelease with the health drink), so getting him to Age 99 there is easy. Compare to the Uni, where he loses hunger every 30 minutes, happiness every 40, wakes up earlier (7am vs. 9am on Connection), and his sickness per CM rate can't be mitigated at all, so messing up and dying along the way becomes much easier.
