There has been so many documented cases where if you move production to historically orderly country in bad times they will out compete you down the line because you surrendered all the technical problems to them and this is where innovation and progress is made.
Looking at the article of "Robots added per year" is it really a surprise? When the country that makes most robots already uses these robots to manufacture their own robots?
And it's not even just that look at Solar, Germany wasted trilions of dollars, decades or research, endless goverment subsidies to it's own people to adopt solar in a region where it's beyond subpar. All with the hopes of one day coming out on top as the leaders of Solar Manufacturing in the world.
Then China went and said oh that? We can make that for 1/10th your price. The entire German solar industry collapsed in years. And all their technical knowlage was bought of by Chinese companies for pennies.
