Most people use microsoft ice, which is the easiest program to do them in, I think. I make stitches sometimes, but I'm not a resident stitchfag. You dont need every frame ususally, just make sure the edges of each screenshot can be reasonably overlayed by the program. You do need every frame if it's a diagonal panning shot or something unique, though
Some people do it in photoshop manually via layering and masking or whatever, but imo that's alot of work when you can just have it be done for free by the program
