Parable, the company behind Isegye Idol, released this statement regarding the temporary unavailability of the music video for Isegye Idol’s song ‘RE:WIND’ and the issue of unlisted/private cover songs.

In the creator industry ecosystem, it has been a common practice for individual creators to collaborate with fans while creating content — communicating and working together throughout the process.

Our affiliated creators have also followed this practice, working with fans even when producing music content, and we have supported this approach, believing that it contributed to the creators’ growth and development.

However, this method works better for individual creators and is not necessarily a strategic approach when it comes to team-based activities. Therefore, moving forward, we aim to focus on producing and managing content based on the artists’ original music.


[Regarding Isegye Idol’s 1st Single “RE:WIND” Music Video Unavailability]

On July 21st, the music video for RE:WIND was set to private and became unavailable due to copyright issues, but thanks to YouTube’s system, it was restored and made public again on August 5th.

However, as many of you noticed, some of the video production involved contributions from external individuals who later raised copyright claims, resulting in a dispute. On August 12th, we obtained the original legal copyright documents and are currently working on a lawful resolution to this matter.

We also attempted to resolve the issue through discussions and negotiations, but as of this morning, the RE:WIND music video has once again been set to private.

Therefore, until this situation is fully resolved, there may be recurring cases where the music video becomes temporarily unavailable, and we wanted to inform fans in advance. We are also working on various preventative measures to ensure similar issues do not arise in the future.

Additionally, we are reviewing whether the unlisted/private cover songs could potentially face the same issues and are discussing possible countermeasures in advance. We sincerely apologize for not being able to prevent this matter beforehand and for any inconvenience caused.

Moving forward, we will do our best to protect the rights of our affiliated creators and ensure that fans can enjoy their content without disruptions.
