JRPGs work better for a Japanese audience. RPGs in general don't do well for most people. The only two people I watch that play RPGs are RIG and Bardic. Everyone else doesn't often have the personality to carry such long games that aren't real time execution base while hacking down random encounters that aren't memorable.
If you're a JRPG nut or will tune into anything your oshi does then you'd be in the minority in the larger viewer sphere.
