MH monsters just aren't cute. They're designed to be cool and sick for the most part.
There's not that many because MH is an action game and the monsters need assloads of animations. A fucking Anteka probably has more animations than the average Pokemon monster.

Pokemon are cute, and there's a LOT of them. It doesn't take any effort to make them (in fact, seems like GF hasn't even put any for a while) so chances are there's at least 100 you'll like.
