>It doesn't matter if the music is mediocre. The music only exists as a conduit where the artist and the fans can connect over shared dramas. Taylor Swift has mastered this.

>Taylor Swift turned herself in to the "literally me" meme for the majority of women and that's why she's the most famous artist of our age.
Her albums are full-scale, quasi-fictional autobiographical novels. She has this way of flirting with cliches that would otherwise be cringe (like the football thing, it's SO cliche), but turning them inside out, and then affirming them in a way that makes people feel joy. It makes people (mostly women) feel good.

>God I hate Taylor Swift. It's literally music for little girls ... It's disturbing also since the fact it is music aimed at little girls how much of the fanbase are actually 30 year old womanchildren who refuse to grow up and emotionally mature.
Well there are themes of childhood and adolescence, but I think her fans experience it as a comfy nostalgia feel.
