An interesting point is that in the Middle East, they were constantly depicted with spots (the dragon of the Apocalypse is also described with spots on its body), and I suppose this could have confused them with panthers/jaguars, plus they're all werewolves.

Apparently, the veil sometimes malfunctioned in reality, which is why there were rumors of one-eyed, one-legged monsters like the Fomorians. They couldn't easily penetrate our reality, but cern + ai will solve this problem.
