This is what Rumiko Takahashi had to say about Rokumon on Twitter on February 27th, 2022:

"Ten and Shippo were antagonistic to the main characters, so it was refreshing for me to see a little person that was not going against the main character. He's practical, but he's basically there for Rinne. Once in a while Rokumon rebels, but I thought he kept his private life separate. He doesn't wear clothes, but whether he is naked or in costume is a mystery."
