If you're playing the game completely blind, you're unlikely to actually find her. Some people just outrun the beast, some people run away from the beast, some people die to the beast first and write it off as unwinnable and either outrun or run away on their next attempt, and some people defeat her but then don't go back to that door and recruit her. I didn't even learn she existed until after I beat the game once and came to /v/ to discuss it.
