Started building my Damned. The new APC kit is pretty nifty, a decent enough first attempt at a vehicle for WGA.
Pros:
>Easily swappable from armored to open-topped; parts just lift in and out, no magnets needed
>Good amount of options and extra parts; two hull guns, 2 optional pintle weapons (with or without gunner), 2 sets of seats, a filled rifle rack
>Guard rails seems much sturdier in person; plastic seems more flexible than GW so they'll likely just bend rather than snap
>Almost all gaps can be avoided if assembled well
>Unarmored bed more than large enough for a few minis or to mount a heavy weapon, allowing for an easy technical
>Good size and shape and a relatively generic aesthetic; useful on its own or as a proxy
>Probably will be relatively cheap
Cons:
>Harder plastic than GW, needed scraping and heavier sanding to remove sprue nubs
>Sprue attachment points in visible places; cleanup is both necessary and relatively slow
>Somewhat annoying to build; no instructions, few reference photos, and relatively few locating tabs/slots/shelves
>No good way I found to assemble the main cab; seems to want everything to go together at once rather than step by step
>Wheels can be assembled with tread mismatched from half to half; clean up time consuming as each of the 6 wheels have 3 nubs for each half; there's enough slop in the peg and socket for wheels not to align concentric with the axle
>The floor of the armored compartment needs to be removed for the unarmored bed to fully seat; you can trim the latter to fit but you'd essentially have to trim off the lip that locates and locks it in place
>The roof doors on the armored compartment have a small gap in the middle when closed; you can move them closer then the hinges will have a gap
Overall pretty happy. I got 3, 1 assembled and I've finished clipping the other 2 off their sprues. I have all the rest of the kits bar the cavalry and the raptor herders if anyone's curious about anything else.
