Why are Gundam conflicts so short?
The one year war: barely a year
Gryps conflict: a few months
First neo Zeon war: a few months
Second neo Zeon war: not even a few months
Bloody Valentine war: barely a year
Second bloody Valentine war: not even a year
Do the Japanese just not understand how war works?
If we look at real wars, one of two things happens, either one side is totally dominant and they steamroll the opposition in no time at all (gulf war, six day war) or both sides grind it out, either due to being roughly even or because the dominant side hits a roadblock (Vietnam, Iran Iraq war, current Gaza insurgency, Korean war, world war 2)
This never seems to be the case in Gundam. The ultra powerful army has some really good wins early on and then they just become retarded and complacent and allow the war to drag on just long enough to get their asses kicked by some experimental technology manned by an autistic teenager.
Is this some kind of Nippon trope I'm unaware of?
