But this is the central problem.
BA's story doesn't have an internal logic nor does it stay consistent for long.
Hence the dream/simulation approach.
Like what was mentioned elsewhere, this is like getting surprised or upset that the Alice in Wonderland story is a dream world.
Yeah, it is, and the book tells you that directly to your face.

It's not a big deal, unless if you somehow got fooled a lot longer than you should have.
