Dust, and by the looks of it Frost, are incredibly fun until you actually have to fight something. I love scrounging around for resources and trying to craft weapons and bandages, and then I enter a house and there's a cannibal wielding an anti material rifle with unlimited ammo. Right until I kill him and the gun is nearly broken and has 1 bullet in it. I want to like Dust, and part of me loves it, but the balance is so unbelievably shit. If you find a crossbow early on (a silent sniper rifle with 0 spread and easy to craft ammo), the game ceases to be at all challenging. The gameplay loop consists of hiding behind walls and waiting for NPCs to walk around them so you can headshot them in VATS for an instant kill.

I wish there was a mod like Dust, but the premise was more you had to survive the hostile wildlife instead of endless cannibal hordes that have somehow survived for 20 years because??? Who the fuck is still coming to Vegas at this point? Why can't I just fucking leave through Mojave Outpost after killing everyone there? What the fuck?
