They're baiting man. The first thing that politicians would argue about regarding age of consent being implemented was about it being potentially leveraged as a blackmail racket. You can find Arnold Schwarzenegger bragging about picking up 15 year olds openly at Venice Beach in the 80s. The guy then later went on to become governor of California, so moral panic around age of consent is situationally blind and mostly used to contract political power using moral panics, capital, and extralegal whitewashes. Jerry Seinfeld openly dated a 15 year old as well.
