Yo, Toonami General. It's another week gone by, and we're back to reruns, so Deep Space Radio's got you the music to get you to the end of the night.

We'll start off on an old classic, Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf.

I've been on a kick of watching some older stuff and it was either gonna be this or I'd Do Anything for Love, but for some reason every time someone brings that up the response is something about how the first album was better. Me, personally, I think I like that one best, but I'm a schmaltzy dweeb. Still, they're not wrong about Bat Out of Hell being full of great music. The title track is great, and the rabbit hole of reaction videos I've fallen into has given me some interesting perspectives on it. Meatloaf's got a real theatrical way of performing, which yeah, he did acting too. Apparently he used to joke he'd get an award for his acting before he got a grammy. The other note I kept hearing was how the music feels like a journey in itself, like it compliments the story of the song and illustrates it in a way. That's kind of a lost art these days, and I'm usually not the kind of person to make that point, because I love modern music also, but it is true that things have definitely changed. Still, the old stuff isn't going anywhere as long as people remember it.

I know I'm kinda starting late but I'm still used to posting during Naruto. Also Bat Out of Hell is a long song.

Guess we might as well keep starting during Lazarus reruns. So don't worry, Deep Space Radio's still got you covered. Seriously, don't go to bed yet!

Anyway, let's start off with Cold Cuts from McBaise, featuring Muthi again.

Once that bass kicks in, weaving in together with the guitar, oh baby it's magical. This is the funky shit right here, guys. And you get a little bit of that good old dreamy keyboards in, that little bit of a weird vaporwave spice? I'm sold, man. I really dig it, and I hope you guys too. This is the kinda summer vibe you really need to relax to.
