You are actually right about this. But it doesn't matter.
GenX are at the forefront of the competency crisis right now. Most others don't understand the boomers didn't pass anything on to them, including the skills and positions needed to keep things going. If they had 'good' parents they got into some college and connections, then got into some middling office work shit. But they didn't learn the skills behind those jobs that keep them running, the technical jobs below them who actually do the work. The rest of the generation got to jump jobs every time the economy shit itself for the jews, so their technical depth of understanding on a job never got depth, and they never got into positions to bring it into management.
Now the competency crisis is in full swing. And there is no fixing it.
