Gotta be honest, it's the best for the story and the fandom now that Denji is written out of the story for a foreseeable future at least. For the story, other characters might have more chance to be explored now. For the fandom, those petty shipping wars, which were the main source of all schizophrenia on this board, can cool down for the rest of the story at least. A very bold but necessary decision by Fuji indeed.
