This expansion made me cancel my sub for the first time in a decade.
Not going to go in depth on the terrible writing or Wuk Lamat, that horse has already been beaten to a pulp at this point.
The current state of job design is the lowest I've ever seen. I'm saying this as a tank main, but tank's self sustain is out of control. Pretty much all content is possible without Healers to the point of Ultimates having been cleared without them. What is even the point of the trinity system in this game anymore when its getting to a point (and in some instances already at the point) of being more optimal to run content without healers because tanks provide enough healing by themselves and leads to higher dps and faster clears.
Apart from that glaring issue, job homogenization has all but killed my enjoyment of being able to play multiple jobs on a single character. What is the point of swapping to a different job when it's effectively just a different flavor of the same job. Keep in mind I'm coming from the perspective of a tank main who occasionally played healer with dps as my least played role. I am aware dps has the most variety so far, but from what I've heard it's going in the exact same direction for them.
I know I'm late on this one but lastly, I want to address the PlayerScope incident. The way the Square Enix and the dev team addressed this was wholly inadequate. They sent a Cease and Desist to the creator and never addressed whether they fixed the issue with blacklists making SE ID's public. As far as I'm aware the PlayerScope plugin started as privately shared before going public. This leaves the window open to wondering if there are other plugins that take advantage of the vulnerability that are being privately shared without public knowledge.
