Yeah, it was. It doesn't really even look like it is from rider to me, which is a problem that all post zero-one until gavv suits had for me with a couple exceptions.
It looks like it was trying to be some modern tacticool armor bullshit to me.

Don't pretend there haven't been way cooler sword/samurai themed suits.
I get having a motif but a lot of modern designs go too far and don't even resemble rider suits to me anymore.
