it's possible that the creators of the simulation will allow some or all simulated consciousnesses to continue in a different form after their simulated forms cease to exist in what we perceive as reality, but unless the creators have access to information about "the afterlife" that we don't, it's reasonable to presume that they are materialists who will simply recycle the computing resources used to simulate us when we "die"
