We can and should improve society but again, you can't live inside a social group without contributing to it in one way or another.
Whether the tax is money, grains or simply you doing your job you still have to give SOMETHING to the group, that can be anything from a bunch of seashells to your time, ALL OF THAT is inevitably your property in one way or another.
The thing is in a social group, a functioning one at least, everyone gives a bit of their "property" in one way or another so everyone can benefit from this collective effort in one way or another, that's why welfare is a thing for instance, or why some places have public healthcare, I'll give you that this does not work as well as it should for a long list of reasons but it's better than nothing.

It's the same principle that any social group is founded upon, families work the same way and everything repeats itself scaling all the way up to big daddy state, if you do not want to accept this, again, you just have to find a way to live on your own completely off the grid and never ask anyone anything because that's the only way you are legitimately able to keep everything you manage to get for yourself if that's your ultimate goal.
