My breakfast was 150g chickpeas and 150g brown rice with a tablespoon of ground flaxseed, and salt. I chewed it quite thoroughly, I sat and considered the chain of causality that lead to these perfect jewels of nutrition being offered to me as a gift.

Every in breath, I considered golden, as I was fully aware I may not live to experience the next out breath. I suppose It took me 40 minutes to eat a bowl of rice and chickpeas. It was really quite an experience. My kitchen was perfectly quiet of any man-made noise, only robins calling over their territory, and the first rains we've had in nearly a month.

I think that veganism, Buddhism, mindfulness, and right view are exceptional tools to help us on our journeys to metabolic health!
