yep, they literally have to provide a counter "argument" to any information or positions taken by the "BBBY is coming back" crowd. Many of the core reasons were discovered in the 20th century, but basically, if you leave these idea unopposed you can have ripple effects where they start to spread and take hold.
Providing even a retarded counter argument, such as: "shorts are closed forever and can never come back", is still way better to control a narrative than leave it unopposed, because people, from a distance, will see ideas that are fought against and be far less likely to believe one side or another, unless they are already specifically interested in the topic. So pretty much the average person comes across the idea that BBBY is a massive fraud and attempted cover up but figured like platinum sparkles and others fight against these narratives which keeps a surprising level of narrative control even if their arguments can't even be considered arguments.
