anon, thanks to recent wars there's a lot of videos out there showing what happens when a tank/APC is hit. Unless ammo or fuel explodes, the crew usually is not killed instantly. And that's just baseline human meatbags.

Anyway, vehicle combat in the game is gamey and abstracted to hell. Like, if you actually look at a Predator it should have better AV in the sides than in the front. LRs shouldn't be AV14 in all sides, and so on.
Ideally the custom damage tables from 2e should come back to makes things a bit more simulationist and spicy.
