The US is struggling to keep up, just look at the difference between your avg Chinese infantryman in 2015, vs 2025. Now look at the US, it more or less stayed the same. The US is still struggling to add that MICROSOFT headset thats been going on for years and even had to change company hands in the program. The US Army has a new rifle that is getting bad reviews and well its gonna be terrible for jungle fighting or in the Pacific. As its more of a rifle to fight the taliban with long ranges when fighting in the mountains with little to no tree's in their engagements.
The only good thing I saw was the Heat/NVG mix scope but even then, its not given to every unit as of yet.
China seems to be going all in on digital NVG's and scopes but it'll be intresting to see how the avg PLA infantryman changes from 2025 to 2030.
They are also seem to be experimenting more with the exoskeletons in non-logistical roles too. But China being ahead of everyone on battery tech, I expect them to field it first lol.
