While reading Subahibi it occured to me that, consciously or not, it serves as a counterbalance to Higurashi's misguided humanistic spiel of "nobody's really evil, it's all because of the, uh, bad worms in the brain!". A similar thought is put forward during Looking-glass Insects, where one of the characters describes the Specialized Physics Bug. The funny thing is that the whole idea is expressly a delusion of a traumatized girl, who desperately seeks a way to explain her suffering without losing hope in humanity. Turns out that Ryukishi07's morality is that of a teenager.
