Your ancestors laughed at the idea of giving women what they want because if that was the actual tactic for reproduction in our species, maybe 1% of dudes would ever get laid while the rest stood around doing all the work (it's not like women will build anything, work on infrastructure, go hunt for food, etc.) We're already seeing the effects of this. It is common in western societies for all political elections to boil down to which party is more willing to give women the right to kill their children. If you believe such a creature should be the ones deciding who gets to have sex or raise children then you have not been paying attention. At that point even rapists would be the better option.
