I find that Israelis and diaspora Jews (at least influential figures thereof) have become basically polar opposite people
There is now this situation where Israel outright defies the interests of the average non-Israeli Jew but still has a claim on their loyalty, a claim that cannot be effectively contested because there is no alternative or big enough Jewish counterweight to Israel
Over time this situation will hopefully become clear enough that Israel can no longer claim the status of representative of global jewry that it traditionally profits off of, but this can only happen if antisemitism does not grow enough to force diaspora jews into taking Israel's side for protection (which already happened before)
