This operation was a tactical masterpiece, the bandits were used to flee to the jungle whenever there was a police operation only leaving behind a handful of people to hold them up.
This time BOPE units infiltrated the jungle before the regular police operation, we don't know when, it's likely that it was more than a day before, they set up an ambush for the criminals.

This picture is better, you can see the different police units used to cordon off the area and into assault the favela in order to push the criminals towards the jungle area where they always used to flee to in previous operations where BOPE was set up waiting for them, footage from this would be insane, but it's unlikely to come out, they are very secretive about their operations.
