It's worth noting SU was a syndicated show on network television in a period when syndie network shows were on the way out, and it was part of a larger collection of shows (BKN) that again, was when those were on the way out
I read an article from Broadcasting Magazine (Jan 11 1999, coincidentally BKN and SU are also mentioned) saying that by then there was a glut of syndicated hour-long action shows like your Sorbo Hercules or Xenas and not enough demand or timeslots for them. SU of course wasn't one of those but it was syndicated in a period where there were 500 other syndicated kids shows on the market alongside offerings from cable channels and the network kidvid blocks, so probably similar situation, too much supply, not enough demand
