Monopolistic abuse is when you use your position as de facto gatekeeper of the marketplace to shut down content you don't like by making it unprofitable. They don't care if it goes to GOG or DLSite because they know those sites won't make up for losing access to Steam's install base. Their job is done, they killed the content and ensured no more will be made.

No it was fucking not. A decade ago, the most you had to deal with was occasional rating board shenanigans and loocalizers. Japanese versions were always uncensored so JOPs had nothing to worry about basically ever. Now you have platform holders and financial entities directly forcing censorship on the developers themselves plus (((investors))) mandating in-company ethics departments for self-censorship according to globohomo principles. Everything is way, WAY worse now than it was even a decade ago. Something like Tokyo Clanpool, a typical Japanese console game in 2017, now can't find a single platform that will host it without major censorship.
