>only 17% of men(USA) have no friends
cool story hoe
Women don't seem to understand frens because they view each other as competition and their "friendships" are transactional and chosen based off how that person can benefit them, mainly as a intimacy surrogate until a mate comes along. Which explains why female friendships often fall apart as soon as one of them gets into a relationship.
Men on the other hand will run into a friend they haven't seen since 2nd grade, not talking once in 20years and pick right up where they left off.
So no shit men say they have friends, they do it's their pack but those packs are no longer tight like brothers.
It's what men don't have, a emotionally intimate connection and we don't get that from friendships, we get that from a mate.
Men are depressed because for most of them they don't live in that type of society anymore.
Boys are having midlife crisis's at puberty because it's so obvious at this point that sure they'll have some bros to play beer pong with and might find a chick to hookup with on weekends but that's it, nothing more will be achieved and that erodes personal drive.
Because:
-No chance for personal achievement/accomplishment
-No true friends because the "bond of war" is never formed between the guys having to trust and rely on each other. So they are just kinda party acquaintances
-No deep connection with a lover or chance at a family
but if they break their spine for 50 years they can save up and buy a used Nintendo and some spongbob mac&cheese from the commissary
