And everytimes we had a few days of heat, it was the apocalypse and global warming fault, then back to just saying nothing about the summer being fucking cold.
We had a wavy polar vortex this summer that mostly got stuck on cold wave for western Europe. But it's also why the few hot days where very hot, not record braking, but hot.

Plus, seasons are affected by polar vortex shape. Some summers are pretty standard in heat because we have a stable vortex. Other are hot or cold depending what part of the vortex we are.
