lolwut they hated on her design for all of one days before they started bending over backwards pretending to love her just because she's from Fontaine and they could use her to shit on Natlan.
And of course because they realized that hating on her immediately pointed out their hypocrisy when one major thing they cried about with Natlan was in how sexualized the designs were. They literally pretend that Escoffier's design is conservative now just because she's not from Natlan.
It's just one more case point in female behavior. "Natlan=bad, Fontaine=good because Natlan makes me feel bad and Fontaine makes me feel good therefore I must attack every aspect of the former and defend every aspect of the latter." Women are ultimately far more tribal than men because men will ultimately give way to reason and truth over blood, or I'm just projecting as a White man.
